WE NEED SOME HELP! NON-Operations Opportunity
The Runyan Acres Fire Department has an opening for a Board Member (at large) on the Runyan Acres Fire Department / Pulaski County Fire District 10 Board of Directors. This is a non-paid position and applicants must be residents of Fire District 10.
The ideal candidate would be a person with a background in business administration, Public Safety Management, Government Affairs, Accounting or Military Command Level experience and have an interest in assisting to keep our community safe. However, any resident with interest is encouraged to apply. Meetings are monthly, in the evening and are generally under 2 hours in length. The boards primary responsibility is budgetary and administrative oversight of the fire district. Daily and Emergency Operations are conducted by the Fire Chief and Fire Command Staff. This is a non-operations position....in other words you don't have to go into burning buildings!

Applicants will be contacted to set up an interview with the current Board of Directors. All appointments are with the final approval of the County Judges Office.

The North Little Rock Fire Department joins departments and communities across the country in mourning the loss of volunteer firefighter Andrew Cross of the Morrill Fire Department in Maine, who was tragically killed in Friday’s explosion at the Robbins Lumber mill in Searsmont, Maine. Andrew was only 27 years old.

Volunteer firefighters hold a special place in the fire service. They leave their homes, families, jobs, and everyday lives at a moment’s notice to answer calls for people they may never even know. They do it not for recognition, but simply because they care about their communities and the people in them.

Tonight, we ask everyone to keep Andrew’s family, his brothers and sisters at the Morrill Fire Department, and all who knew and loved him in your thoughts.

Rest easy, brother. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Free Tree Friday is almost here! Catch us in Greers Ferry, Hatfield, Monticello, Sheridan, or Paragould this week from 11 a.m. to 1 pm. for free seedlings while supplies last.

The Paragould stop will serve as an Arkansas ReLeaf event, where attendees can receive an additional potted tree to support replanting efforts following tornadoes in recent years.

Any weather-related postponements will be announced here, and events will be rescheduled when possible.
