Welcome students and parents to the 2026-2027 school year!
To start, we’d like to introduce ourselves as your Sherwood School Resource Officers (SRO). Preston Neumann has been the Middle School SRO for the last three years, and will be graduating to the High School to follow his students.
Officer Wolfer has graduated from Sherwood High School and will be Sherwood PD’s newest Detective.
Travis Abernathy will be starting his first year as an SRO at Sherwood Middle School. Officer Abernathy has been a police officer with Sherwood Police since 2022, and brings a background of working with kids through coaching youth sports and helping mentor kids in financial literacy.
Student safety is our first priority. Schools should be a place where students feel comfortable, accepted and protected. We regularly train and work closely with the school district to prepare for and respond to safety concerns.
Beyond keeping our schools safe, we work alongside the school district to holistically support students in all walks of life. This takes partnership with teachers, counselors, support staff and of course, our Sherwood families.
Our goals for the year include;
- Being present, approachable, and available to our school community
-Connecting with students at ALL grade levels
-Taking part in school activities and events
- Building relationships with school staff, and parents
-Keep Sherwood Schools a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff
