A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Summer Reading Kickoff Party on Saturday! We had so much fun celebrating the start of summer reading with everyone!

If you haven't signed up for summer reading, it's not too late! Sign up using the Beanstack app or at sherman.beanstack.com to begin earning prizes.

There's so many organizations that helped us make this event happen: the Friends of the Sherman Public Library, , , Sherman Parks & Recreation, Bluestem Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists, and .united.bank! Also thank you to for providing our teen volunteers with tea on such a hot summer day!

Lastly, thank you so much to the SPL VolunTeens! If you didn't know, teen volunteers helped make every part of our Kickoff Party possible. From running booths, to setting up games, to being the smiling faces helping you redeem your summer reading prizes, we are so grateful for the help and support they give to the library!

Monday Madness kicks off today! Meet us at the Municipal Ballroom (405 N Rusk St, Sherman, TX 75090) today at 10:30AM for the Creature Teacher Animal Show, an extraordinary animal educational journey filled with laughter, learning, and awe-inspiring creatures!

Monday Madness is a partnership between the library and Sherman Parks & Recreation and takes place every Monday in June, bringing all-ages performers to our community at no cost to you and your family!

Our Summer Reading Challenge kicks off May 30th, and this year we're excited to announce another fun way to read together this summer: our Unearth a Story Downtown Sherman Story Stoll!

Pick up a Story Stroll map from the library beginning May 30th, then head downtown to enjoy a story that unfolds page by page as you walk to stop to stop. It's a perfect way for families, kids, and any story lovers to explore our community in this month-long literacy event.

Along the way, participants can answer questions and complete activities to earn prizes. If you're participating in our Summer Reading Challenge, looking for a screen-free family outing, or just wanting to discover downtown, the story stroll is a great way to keep reading this summer.

Pick up your map beginning May 30th and complete the story stroll as many times as you'd like in the month of June.
