Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma Our hope is to help families create lasting, positive change in their lives. Please take a minute to “feel” the impact of our work through the eyes of a child.

The Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma exists to strengthen, improve, and empower the lives of hurting Texoma children and families, through compassionate and restorative mental healthcare. We achieve this through our clinical treatment services and prevention and intervention education programs. Services include individual, family, marriage and group counseling, psychological testing and parenting skills and divorce education programs. Daily we receive calls for help from overwhelmed parents and guardians of children that have experienced and/or been exposed to domestic violence, sexual abuse, a difficult divorce, or loss of a loved one. Just for a moment imagine that you are Teddy, a soft, cuddly teddy bear which 5 year old Sarah holds onto each week during her play therapy sessions at the Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma. Sarah holds tight to Teddy for safety and security while she shares with her therapist the overwhelming grief of losing her mother in a car accident. Her tears stream down Teddy's ears and nose. He doesn't mind; he knows they are part of the healing process. At the Child & Family Guidance Center children, like Sarah are provided a safe place to go and a caring adult to share their deepest hurts and feelings. That mix allows true healing to happen.

💚 60 Years of Hope, Help & Healing — Come Celebrate With Us! 💚

Next Thursday, September 17, we’re opening our doors and inviting YOU to celebrate 60 years of serving children, families, and individuals across Texoma. 🎉

Join us for our 60th Anniversary Open House from 4:00–6:00 PM! Tour our facility, learn more about CFGC, celebrate our history, and help us look forward to the next 60 years.

🎈 And be sure to arrive right at 4:00 PM! 🎈
We’ll kick off our celebration with a special 60th Anniversary Proclamation and Balloon Pop with Judge Dawson, our County Commissioners, and the Sherman & Denison Chambers of Commerce, as we officially mark this incredible milestone!

It’s going to be a special afternoon, and we’d love to have our community there to celebrate with us. 💚

A huge thank-you to Paul Manley & Lindsey Kondos Manley and family for donating beloved stuffed animals to CFGC! 💙💚

Their children wanted to do something extra special and share some of their favorite furry friends with a few children who could give them a new home. And honestly… it feels a little like Toy Story come to life! 🥹🧸

Mental health shouldn’t make headlines only when a celebrity is involved—it matters every single day.

Recent events have reminded many of us that emotional pain isn't always visible. Behind a smile, a successful career, or a busy life, someone may be carrying more than we realize.

A simple check-in can make a difference.
💙 Ask how someone is really doing.
💙 Listen without judgment.
💙 Encourage them to seek support if they're struggling.
💙 Remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Sometimes, they look like a handmade blanket, created with kindness and compassion. 🩵🫂🧵🫶

Over the past three weeks, the incredible volunteers from Young Men's Service League (YMSL) of Texoma donated their time to make 42 blankets for the children and families we serve.

Each one is a reminder that someone cares.
