𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗨𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸- 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆!

The City of Sheridan Parks Department is excited to announce that we have recently hydroseeded the area around the playground of Black Tooth Park.

You might notice a blue-green slurry on the ground—this is a special mix of seed, mulch, and nutrients designed to give our new grass the best possible start. To ensure this area grows into a lush, healthy lawn for everyone to enjoy, 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽!

Why Stay Off the Seeded Areas?

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: New grass shoots are extremely delicate. Even light foot traffic can crush them before they have a chance to take root.
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Walking on the hydroseed packs down the soil, making it harder for water and air to reach the roots.
𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘅 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: Hydroseed needs to stay undisturbed on the surface to maintain the proper moisture levels for germination.

How You Can Help

We kindly ask that all visitors and their furry friends stay on the established pathways and use the non-seeded areas of the park for the time being. Keeping pets out of these specific zones is especially important for the success of the new turf.

We are working hard to enhance our community’s open spaces, and we appreciate your patience as we wait for the "green" to arrive.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep Sheridan beautiful!

☀️ Planning an event in Sheridan this summer? 🤠☀️

𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 you start advertising, booking vendors, selling tickets, or serving alcohol, please reach out to the City! In many cases, organizers simply aren't aware that permits, approvals, or other requirements may apply, but we're here to help!

Not sure if your event needs a permit? That's okay — give us a call. We'd much rather answer questions early and help you navigate the process than have you discover requirements after plans are already in place.

Depending on your event, you may need:
✅ A Special Event Permit
✅ Alcohol Permits
✅ Alcohol Server Training (Free Course Available from PD, see image for details)
✅ Insurance Documentation
✅ Other approvals related to your event activities

Whether you're planning a fundraiser, tournament, community gathering, market, concert, festival, or private event, we're here to help determine what may be required.
