The Sheridan Police Department along with the Grant County Sheriff's Office will be participating in a statewide enforcement. From Monday, May 18 through Sunday, May 31, our officers will be conducting highly visible traffic enforcement focusing on the seatbelt violations. Our officers will also be looking for speeding violations, DWI, and distracted driving. This is all in an effort to help reduce the number of accidents on our roadways.

The Sheridan Police Department is accepting applications for a patrol officer position. Benefits include: a competitive salary, full-paid family insurance, LOPFI retirement system, vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, certificate pay, and education pay. Base pay for uncertified officers with holiday pay is $43,949.60. Base pay for certified officers can be up to $51,862.46 including holiday pay based on years of full-time law enforcement experience. From Friday, April 17 through Monday, April 20, our officers will be conducting highly visible traffic enforcement focusing on the National 420 Mobilization.
