Time is running out to apply for our Utility Maintenance Operator position! Applications are due Friday, Nov. 7.

The City of Sheridan Utility Maintenance Division team is currently seeking a highly motivated, customer service focused and reliable person to fill their position of Utility Maintenance Operator.

This position is responsible for performing technical duties in the maintenance, repair, and operation of the water and wastewater systems as well as regular interaction with the public and other City divisions. Experience in heavy equipment operation, construction & maintenance of utility systems including distribution collection and storm water collection preferred. Ability to perform moderate/heavy physical work required.

Interested, qualified applicants with ability to obtain a CDL with air brake endorsement and level II DEQ certifications should submit a completed City of Sheridan application to 55 Grinnell Plaza, Sheridan, WY 82801. This is a fully benefited position including health, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement pension, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off. The Dow Road pump station project is complete!

A quick note from Utility Maintenance Superintendent Ken Hirschman:

"My hats off to the (utility maintenance) crew – who did such a superb job and got a very large amount work done in a small time frame. These pumps station replacements take a large amount of planning and require precise measurements so that the retrofit can be done as quickly as possible.

These stations should provide us with many years of service at a much lower cost to operate."

And thanks to our residents for their patience while crews worked on Tuesday!

Attention Dow Drive area residents:

Water pressure in your neighborhood will be impacted today, Oct. 21 due to replacement of a water pumping station on Dow Drive in the Parker Draw subdivision. Homes will have little or no water pressure in this area.

The scheduled turn off will start at 9 am today. We anticipate water service to be restored by 5 pm today.

All properties above the pump station have been notified with door hangers regarding the outage.

We are upgrading these stations with new motors and pumps that are more reliable and efficient.

This morning city workers began replacing the water pumping station on Dee Drive in the Woodland Hills subdivision. Homes in that area will have little or no water pressure. All properties above the pump station have been notified with door hangers regarding the outage.

The scheduled turn off began at 9 am. We anticipate for water service to be restored by 5 pm today.
