Today we conducted a joint control tactics and use of Force training with McAdoo PD. We would like to thank Chief Divirgilio and officers Soriano and Perelta for participating. We would also like to thank stewards for providing us with pizza for lunch!

The firework display that a township family set of for their family in Oneida last night has been dealt with according to our ordinance.

As always if there is something that needs police attention call 911 for emergencies or 570-462-1991 for non emergencies our dispatchers get paid to handle these things paid for by our tax dollars. No call to them will go unturned.

We are a part time department covered by 4 part time officers. We try our best and can’t be every inch of the township every minute of the day!

This is why it’s so Smokey in the township

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is conducting a large prescribed fire on game lands 58 off fire tower road near Mainville. The smoke is visible throughout the area and the header can be seen for miles.

BURN BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED but please use common sense and be careful when burning please. The burn ordinance has been pinned to the top of our page. Burning is only allowed Mondays and Wednesdays 9a-5p and Saturdays 9a-NOON.

The proper way to report a complaint/police matter:

1. We do not monitor the msgs on this page. So sending us a Facebook message when you need police isn’t going to get a response.

2. When you see something or have a complaint and need police assistance if it’s an emergency dial 911. If it isn’t an emergency dial 570-462-1991 and ask for an officer. If we are working they will dispatch us. If not you’ll be forwarded to the state police.

Again if you need police follow the steps above. If you don’t it must not be that important and maybe you don’t need to complain on Facebook about it either.

It has been brought to the townships attention that people have been dumping garbage and tires behind the township building. This area is for TOWNSHIP residents to get rid of clean fill and yard waste. The area is being monitored by cameras and violators will be prosecuted.
