The Saints' Pantry Since 1981, The Saints' Pantry Food Bank has been working to feed our friends and neighbors who are hungry.

We offer not only food but an entry way to various community services available to help almost any need.

The Saints' Pantry's Volunteer of the month for October is Alice Wilson. Alice is a long time resident of Shelton and has volunteered at the food bank for over seven years. On Monday's Alice helps put together over 300 Back Packs each week for the food deprived children of Shelton. She also works on Tuesday and Wednesday handing out food to our clients, and does so much more. THANK YOU ALICE for all that you do for this community!

Nutrition Educators Pamela Lynn Bish and Gabrieal Volpe from the WSU Extension Program take food that the food bank has available for clients and creates tasty, healthy recipes. They prepare the food using these recipes, and hand out samples to our clients when the food bank is open. Our clients love this program!!

Liz Dystra, member of the Sacajawea Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in Olympia, visited Steve Russell, Director of the Saints' Panty today. Liz is the DAR Service for Veterans Committee Chairman. She has collected, from the Sacajawea members, over 494 items that were donated for the hygiene packages for homeless veterans in Mason Co.

STUFF THE BUS!
Mason County School Bus Driver's 2nd Annual Food Drive.....Their goal is to fill a bus with non-perishable food items for donation to the Pantry.....Bring your food donations to help Mason County children stay full this winter. The bus will be located at Our Community Credit Union (Uptown Branch) at 2948 Olympic Highway North, on December 7th, 2013 from 10am to 4 pm.

Did you know that 15.9 million children, in our country, lived in food insecure households in 2012? In 2011, the top five states with the highest rate of food insecure children under 18 are New Mexico, the District of Columbia, Arizona, Oregon, and Georgia.

With the holidays fast approaching, please check with your local food bank to see what you can do to help food deprived children in your community.

Thank you to the Lucky Dog Casino and the Skokomish Indian Tribe for their generous grant of $2500.00! This grant will go towards the Saints' Pantry's Back Pack Program for food deprived and homeless children in Mason County

The Saints' Pantry is very grateful to the U.S. Postal Service, the Shelton Mail Carriers, and the people of Mason Co. Over 5,700 pounds of food was donated to the Pantry for the needy in our community! The people of Shelton and Mason Co. have big hearts! THANK YOU!
