Butler Rescue Hands, Inc

Butler Rescue Hands, Inc Each veteran has served this country with courage and commitment, so it is only fitting to provide Now, Butler Rescue Hands, Inc.

Our founder, Garrett Butler, started Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. when he saw the increasing need for non-medical home care and resources for veterans. As a veteran himself, he made sure to keep his promise to his fellow veterans, "helping others find their way home" by opening an organization to cater to the veterans. is committed to giving back to our veterans needing the care they deserve and some

times need to be made aware of how to obtain them. We make sure to partner and familiarize our team with different resources to cater to the needs of each veteran as much as we can. However, as a non-government organization, we may need more resources to fuel our passion for serving. Even so, this does not stop us from supporting veterans at risk of homelessness or needing a home where they can receive care. We seek to help one veteran at a time to improve the quality of their life and live a fulfilling life in the comfort of their own home, and for those that need a place they can call their own, we assist them with housing alternatives.

Our Seniors Still Have Things to Do!

Getting older doesn't mean life suddenly becomes a schedule of doctor's appointments and television. πŸ˜„

Our older adults deserve connection, conversation, outings, independence, laughter, and the ability to continue enjoying the things that make life LIFE.

Support may include:

βœ” Companionship
βœ” Meal assistance
βœ” Personal care
βœ” Light housekeeping
βœ” Community outings
βœ” Daily routines
βœ” Safety and supervision

Most importantly, it should always include dignity and respect.

Aging shouldn't mean losing your voice.

Life After an Acquired Brain Injury

An acquired brain injury can change life in an instant, but it doesn't erase a person's goals, personality, or potential.

Recovery and independence can require patience, consistency, structure, and the right support system.

Butler Rescue Hands supports individuals living with acquired brain injuries with services designed to promote:

βœ” Daily living skills
βœ” Community participation
βœ” Personal routines
βœ” Greater independence
βœ” Safety at home and in the community
βœ” Meaningful activities and goals

We support the person β€” not just the injury.

πŸ’™πŸ’› BUTLER RESCUE HANDS INC. IS GETTING READY FOR 2027! πŸ’ͺ

Today was an exciting milestone for Butler Rescue Hands Inc. as we held our FIRST in-house CPR & First Aid training class!

As Connecticut prepares for new training requirements for Homemaker-Companion Agencies beginning January 1, 2027, we are starting early and continuing to strengthen the education and preparedness of our team.
At Butler Rescue Hands, we believe preparation shouldn’t begin when a requirement becomes effective. It starts NOW.

We are committed to making sure our caregivers and staff have the knowledge, hands-on training, and confidence needed to respond appropriately in an emergency and provide safe, quality support to the individuals and families we serve.
And this is only the beginning! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ‘ A very special thank you to our Director of Services, Rick Caliz!
Rick is not only an important part of the leadership team at Butler Rescue Hands Inc., but he is also our CPR & First Aid Instructor! Having Rick as an in-house instructor gives us the opportunity to provide consistent, hands-on training to our staff throughout the year.

Thank you, Rick, for sharing your knowledge and experience and for your continued commitment to preparing our team to respond when it matters most!

And a huge thank you to all of our staff who participated in our very first class! Your commitment to learning and professional development directly contributes to the quality and safety of the services we provide..

While CPR/First Aid is not specifically mandated in the final HCA law, it was discussed during the development of the legislation. We believe it is an important skill for professionals working directly with individuals in their homes and communities, so Butler Rescue Hands has chosen to make CPR training part of our ongoing staff-development efforts.

We will be conducting monthly CPR classes to give our staff regular opportunities to complete and maintain this important training.
We aren't waiting until January to prepare. We're preparing NOW. πŸ’ͺ

Training our team. Strengthening our services. Protecting the people we serve.

Autism Support Beyond the Diagnosis

Autism is a spectrum β€” and support should never be one-size-fits-all.

One person may need assistance communicating.

Another may need support developing daily living skills.

Someone else may need help navigating community activities, employment, sensory needs, routines, or social situations.

At Butler Rescue Hands, we focus on the person first.

Their strengths.
Their preferences.
Their communication.
Their goals.
Their life.

Because a diagnosis tells us only one small part of someone's story.

πŸ’™ Individualized support matters.

Independence Looks Different for Everyone

Independence does NOT mean doing everything alone.

Sometimes independence means:

βœ” Learning to prepare a meal
βœ” Going grocery shopping with support
βœ” Practicing money-management skills
βœ” Learning a new bus route
βœ” Going to work
βœ” Making your own choices
βœ” Participating in your community
βœ” Building confidence one skill at a time

At Butler Rescue Hands, our goal isn't to take over.

Our goal is to provide the right support so each person can do MORE for themselves.

That is person-centered support.
