Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that investigators with his Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested 38-year-old Joshua Lehman on May 21, 2026, on multiple charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Child for Possessing Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Po*******hy). These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The ICAC Unit was assisted in this arrest by Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, Blackfoot Police Department, Shelley Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and Idaho Falls Police Department.
The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children. Parents, educators, and law enforcement officials can find more information and helpful resources at the ICAC website, ICACIdaho.org.
Anyone with information regarding the exploitation of children is encouraged to contact local police, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

Update: To clear up confusion in the community, this was not the same address as the large drug search warrant several months ago. There was police activity at that same house on 5/20/26, however they are unrelated events.

On May 21, 2026, Shelley Police Officers and Bingham Joint Investigation Detectives assisted the Idaho ICAC Task Force—Internet Crimes Against Children—with a search warrant on the 200 block of North Park. We wanted to take this time to recognize the teamwork and efforts of all involved in these multi-agency operations. The Shelley Police Department will not release more information, as we were an assisting agency. Further information may be provided by the Idaho Attorney General's Office at a later date. Today, we pause to remember and honor Sgt. Kent Swanson, who passed away May 21, 2018.

Sgt. Swanson was more than just a badge and uniform — he was a husband, father, a mentor, a protector, and a friend. His dedication to serving this community left a lasting impact on the Shelley Police Department and the people who had the privilege of knowing him.

His legacy continues to live on in the officers who serve, the lives he touched, and the community he loved. His sacrifice, compassion, and commitment will never be forgotten.

Please join us today in honoring his memory and keeping his family, friends, and fellow officers in your thoughts today.

2026 Special Olympics Idaho Law Enforcement Torch Run

Today, the Special Olympics Idaho Law Enforcement Torch Run made its way through Shelley, and the Shelley Police Department and Bingham County Sheriff's Office were honored to stand alongside these incredible athletes and supporters.

The Flame of Hope represents courage, inclusion, and unity—values that bring communities together across Idaho. We are proud to support the athletes of Special Olympics and help raise awareness for the amazing opportunities and achievements they inspire every day.

Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer on the runners and show support for this incredible cause. Shelley truly is a community that shows up for one another.

We want to recognize Officer Workman for his efforts in coordinating and growing this program. This is only the second year of the torch run in Shelley, and it would not be where it is without him. We also want to thank Idaho State Police, Pocatello Police Department, and Idaho State University Public Safety for the support of their motor units to ensure everyone's safety during the run.

Police Week 2026 - Reserve Officer Holmes

Our reserve officers join up for all sorts of reasons, but mostly to help have a positive impact on our community. Reserve Officer Holmes is always a busy guy, but he does his best to make sure he gives back to the community whenever he can. He is always willing to step up for any of our community events and supply extra manpower. We are grateful for his willingness to help out whenever he can.
