Central Crossing Fire Protection District, Shell Knob, MO Central Crossing Fire Protection District provides fire, rescue & ems services to a 130 sqare mile area around the Shell K**b/Table Rock Lake area.

We have a total of 7 stations that are equipped with apparatus, the district also owns the ambulance station & one of our old stations that is used for storage. Currently we have 28 apparatus. Our Headquarters is located on 39 Highway just north of town. Station 2 is just south of the bridge on Oak Ridge Drive. Station 3 is south of town near the intersection of 39 & H highway. Station 4 is east o

f town at YY & County Line Road. Station 5 is on Stallion Bluff Road, east of the county line. Station 6 is near the intersection of 39 & 76(West). Station 7 is on Piney Tower Road (East on 76)

Barry and Stone counties have been placed under a severe thunderstorm watch till 9 PM this evening

The region could see some thunderstorms develop this afternoon and into the evening hours, with some of these storms becoming strong to severe. Those that are outside should plan to have a way to seek shelter if a storm approaches and/or weather alert is issued. Please monitor the weather though the afternoon and evening.

We are once again seeing a storm that looks to be moving towards Table Rock Lake. This storm does have some brief gusty winds and some lightning with it.

We recommend those that are out on the water to head to shore and seek shelter in some place out of the weather.

Most of the current activity has pushed off to the north, and the district is currently clear of a weather threat as of the moment.

We do expect some additional activity to be in the region, but the scattered situation will be hard to say where and when. CCFPD will continue to monitor the situation, and will post updates as needed.

These do have a higher chance of impacting Table Rock Lake, and those on the water are encouraged to get to land, and have a place to seek shelter. Our weather stations are already picking up on precipitation and lightning in and around the district.

Traffic Incident at 39 at Viola

Highway 39 is closed at Viola near the Church due to a motor vehicle accident.

Update: 3 PM - traffic is being diverted though a local church parking lot, but this is for small vehicles only, no semis.

Update: 3:25 PM - Highway 39 is now flowing traffic, but emergency vehicles and Carroll electric will be in the area repairing the pole. Please use caution in the area. All Central Crossing Fire units have cleared the scene.

Expect slow traffic till the incident is cleared.

The first evening session is this Thursday, May 28th! This course is a unique opportunity for the area and will help boost you and/or your team's understanding of weather, and how to plan, prepare, and respond when (not if) severe weather strikes.

Central Crossing Fire is offering a weather operations course designed for first responders and public safety personnel. This training is open to all area departments and jurisdictions.

The course is split into two parts. Attendance at one of the two evening sessions is required to participate in the hands-on scenario training on Saturday, June 20th.
Evening sessions will be held on Thursday, May 28 or Thursday, June 11 from 6 PM to 9 PM.

The scenario-based training will take place on Saturday, June 20 starting at 8 AM and will run for approximately 4 to 6 hours. We will cover practical skills including tactical radar use, fire weather, and flood threats, focusing on real-world decision-making and field communications.
