Our 2026–2027 Young Leaders Institute introductions continue!

Each week, we’re highlighting a few of the sophomores selected for this year’s class based on their leadership, involvement in their schools and communities, and academic achievement.

This week, meet Griffith Atkins and Isabella Hayden, both representing Martha Layne Collins High School!

Shelby County Young Leaders kicked off their year with their opening retreat today, starting with a focus on leadership skills and getting to know one another.

A big thank you to Shelby County Cooperative Extension for facilitating the True Colors activity, and to Pat Hargadon and Doug Semenick for sharing their experiences and insights on leadership with this year’s class.

We’re looking forward to a great year with this group of young leaders!
