Bobby Powell, Past Commander of our VFW Shelby Memorial Post 1179 recently passed. Our prayers go out to the Family. A Life Member of the VFW, Bobby also served as District Commander for Kentucky District 7.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, 15 September 2026 at Hall and Taylor Funeral Home, in Shelbyville Kentucky, from 10am to 1pm with the service immediately following.

Saturday June 20 The VFW Post 1179 held a flag retirement at Clear Creek Part and the Boy Scout camp ground. 500+ flags retired. Both VFW members and the Aux and boy scouts in attendance. Thank you all for education afternoon.
