It’s been a very busy day at the Shelby County Detention Center. In honor of Mother’s Day, we hosted visits for families, conducted testing for Sergeants, and welcomed a new Deputy who was officially sworn in — all before 2:00 PM.

Making positive changes and building a stronger culture within our agency helps create a stronger, safer community for everyone.

Huge shout out to Dena and Tim from Summit Food Service for the amazing homemade cinnamon rolls in appreciation of Correctional Officers Week! Such a thoughtful gesture for our staff.

Night shift will also be treated to sub sandwiches. We truly appreciate your kindness and support for all our deputies! 👏🍽️

Today we had the opportunity to celebrate our incredible staff during Correctional Officers Week with a cookout filled with appreciation, fellowship, and gratitude.

A special thank you goes out to our amazing vendors and volunteers who generously donated raffle items and helped make today such a success. Your support means more than you know. I couldn’t get everyone in the pictures as they needed to go back to work after fixing their plates.

As Jailer, I truly could not do what I do without the dedicated men and women who serve inside our facility every single day. Their professionalism, sacrifice, compassion, and commitment do not go unnoticed. They are the true heroes of the Shelby County Detention Center, and I am honored and thankful to work beside them daily.

Thank you all for everything you do for our facility, our county, and our community. We appreciate each and every one of you.
