HCW has announced plans for a new 140-room Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel adjacent to Horseshoe Indianapolis, with groundbreaking expected this fall.

The project represents another private investment in Shelbyville and adds to the continued development taking place around the Horseshoe Indianapolis property.

The City of Shelbyville welcomes investments that bring new amenities, visitors and economic activity to our community.

The 8th Annual Shelbyville Community Trunk or Treat returns to the heart of Downtown Shelbyville!

📅 Wednesday, October 28
⏰ 6–8 p.m.
📍 Downtown Shelbyville Public Square (Indiana)

Bring the family downtown for an evening of trunk-or-treating, games, bounce houses, music, pumpkins and more!

🚗 WANT TO HOST A TRUNK?
Local businesses, organizations, churches, community groups and families are invited to join the fun by decorating a trunk and handing out treats. Participating trunks should plan for at least 1,000 pieces of candy or giveaway items.

Shelbyville has been awarded $60,000 in grant funding doe a dual-utility study to support long-term planning for our community’s water infrastructure.

The funding, awarded through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA), will support a dual-utility study examining drinking water and wastewater systems. This planning will help the City better understand current infrastructure needs, identify potential issues and opportunities, and make informed decisions about future improvements.

Shelbyville is one of five Indiana communities receiving funding through this latest round of Community Development Block Grant awards.

Today, the City of Shelbyville joins communities across the nation in observing Patriot Day and remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, the first responders who answered the call, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE | HOMECOMING PARADE

Drivers should plan for temporary road closures on Wednesday, September 16, for the annual Shelbyville Central Schools Homecoming Parade.

Roads affected:
W. McKay Road and S. Miller Street

Closure: 5:50–7:15 p.m.

Please allow extra travel time, use an alternate route when possible and watch for parade participants and pedestrians in the area.

Expanding the variety of housing available in Shelbyville has been a priority for Mayor Scott Furgeson and the City administration — from affordable and workforce housing to homeownership, new single-family neighborhoods and now additional market-rate options.

The next step is Summit of Shelbyville, a new $35 million market-rate housing development planned along the Progress Parkway corridor.

The City of Shelbyville invites the community to join us as we officially break ground:

📍 Near Highpointe Boulevard and Progress Parkway

When complete, Summit of Shelbyville is planned to include 288 apartments, with Phase I beginning with 72 two-bedroom, 1.5-bath units.
