The Shelbyville Common Council will meet today, June 17, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 44 W. Washington Street.

City Council meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity to observe local government in action as elected officials consider ordinances, resolutions, contracts, appointments, and other matters affecting our community.

The City of Shelbyville is accepting applications for the position of City Attorney.

The City Attorney serves as legal counsel to the City and provides guidance on a variety of municipal matters in support of City leadership, boards, commissions, and departments.

Applications must be submitted online by Monday, June 29, 2026.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Utility Work Planned Near S. Miller Street & St. Joseph Street

Residents should expect temporary traffic impacts as utility crews complete a gas line replacement project in the area of S. Miller Street, St. Joseph Street, and Evans Street.

What to expect:

• At least one lane of S. Miller Street will remain open during daytime work hours whenever possible.

• Temporary daytime closures of St. Joseph Street will occur when crews are working across the roadway to safely and efficiently complete the project.

• Motorists should anticipate minor delays and allow extra travel time.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these infrastructure improvements are completed.
