🌳It’s official! Stony Creek Nature Preserve is officially open to the public. With the help of many volunteers, donors, and community partners, we were able to welcome visitors to the trails along Stony Creek last week!

☀️This event featured a guided hike with biologist David Dister, interpretive stations provided by our Homeschool in the Woods students, and refreshments donated by Lewis Adventure Farm and J&H Fleming Farms. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported this new milestone!

❄️Take time to explore the trails before the snow flies; the preserve is open dawn to dusk!

It was a busy week in the forest as our Homeschool in the woods group planted lots and lots of white pine and white spruce seedlings to help out with the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to reforest local Dune areas.
