Lithium-Ion Batteries: Small Devices. Big Responsibility.
Many of the devices we use every day—cell phones, tablets, power tools, e-bikes, scooters, and lawn equipment—are powered by lithium-ion batteries. While they’re safe when used correctly, improper charging or damaged batteries can create a serious fire hazard.
🔋 Today’s Safety Tip
Help protect your home by following these simple battery safety tips:
✅ Use only the charger designed for your device.
✅ Never charge batteries on beds, couches, or other combustible surfaces.
✅ Avoid charging devices overnight or when no one is home.
✅ If a battery becomes swollen, overheats, leaks, or has been damaged, stop using it immediately and dispose of it properly.
✅ Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
A few simple precautions can help prevent a fire before it starts.
