It’s been a great week for CCS!

We’re proud to celebrate another strong showing for Cleveland County Schools. Out of 115 school districts across North Carolina, CCS ranks 25th in grade-level proficiency and 10th in ESL progress!

These results are a reflection of the hard work happening every day in our classrooms and the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families. There’s a lot to be proud of, and we’re excited to keep building on this momentum!

Today, our elementary tutors came together for fall professional development at Central Services. The morning was a great opportunity to learn, connect, and strengthen the work they’re already doing with students across Cleveland County!

Our tutors play an essential role in supporting student learning, and we’re grateful for the time, effort, and care they bring to their work. Today’s training covered school safety, student privacy and social media practices, building positive relationships, creating supportive learning environments, and strategies for working with student behaviors. Tutors also focused on small group instruction, effective phonics and reading instruction using Reading Horizons, and math instruction.

We’re thankful for our elementary tutors and all they do each day to help students learn, grow, and succeed!

Congratulations to Casar Elementary School on an incredible accomplishment!

Casar Elementary is one of only six Title I elementary schools in North Carolina to earn an “A” School Performance Grade. Even more impressive, Casar is one of just two of those schools to also exceed expected growth.

This achievement is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of Casar’s students, staff and families. We are proud to celebrate this outstanding achievement and the commitment to student success happening every day at Casar Elementary.
