663 EN CO - Jackal Horizontal Engineer Army Reserve Company from Sheffield, Alabama. JACKAL COMPANY
ESSAYONS Location was changed again 13 February 1978 to Long Beach, California.

The 663rd was constituted 19 March 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 663d Engineer Company. It was then activated 24 April 1942 at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts, then reorganized and re-designated 1 April 1943 as the 663d Engineer Topographic Company, Corps. The unit was inactivated after serving in WWII on 3 November 1945 at Camp Shanks, New York to be re-allocated. On 6 July 1948 it was

organized into the Organized Reserve Corps and activated 30 July 1948 at Los Angeles, California. 9 July 1952 the Organized Reserve Corps was re-designated as the Army Reserve. The unit was reorganized 20 May 1953 as the 663rd Engineer Company to mirror its former active duty status. Its location was changed 10 April 1957 to South Gate, California and again on 21 February 1960 to Bell, California. On 1 October 1961 at Bell, California the 663rd was ordered into active military service in the Vietnam Conflict and released from active service on 3 August 1962 to be reverted to Reserve status. The unit was deactivated 15 September 1994 and reactivated years later at Decatur, Alabama and from there deployed to Kuwait during 2003-2004. The unit later relocated to Sheffield AL in 2007 and recently served in Afghanistan during 2014

The 663rd Engineer Construction Company has successfully completed a transition of command from our outgoing Company Commander, Captain Khadijah Flemming, and outgoing First Sergeant, Gary Speegle, to our new Company Commander, First Lieutenant Alan Jeskey, and our new First Sergeant, Allen Martin.

All of us at the 663rd ECC extend our deepest gratitude and respect to our outgoing leadership and their families for the sacrifices they have made in support of the 663rd Engineer Construction Company, the 467th Engineer Battalion, and the 412th Theater Engineer Command.

Today, we at the 663rd Engineering Company bid farewell to an outstanding leader, mentor, and friend, Sergeant First Class Quentin Scott, as he transitions to a new role at his new unit in the Army Reserves.

SFC Scott has been a cornerstone of our team, known for his unwavering commitment, exceptional leadership, and dedication to our mission. His guidance has shaped countless soldiers, and his work ethic has set a standard for all of us to strive toward. Whether it was in the field, in training, or behind the scenes, SFC Scott has consistently demonstrated the professionalism and integrity that make him a true asset to the United States Army.

Thank you, SFC Scott, for your years of service, your leadership, and for being an inspiration to us all. We wish you the very best as you embark on this next chapter. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
