**ATTENTION-Public Safety Concern**

The Sheffield Lake Police Department is seeking information on the location of Jon Lefort, a W/M 6 ft, 175 lbs with green eyes. Lefort may be armed with a knife and has purportedly made statements that he would stab law enforcement officers in an attempt at "Su***de by Cop". Lefort has felony warrants through the Lorain County Courts and misdemeanor warrants through the Lorain Municipal Courts for Strangulation, Domestic Violence, and Menacing by Stalking. He was last seen in Sheffield Lake after entering the home of an ex-girlfriend in the 800 block of Sheffield Rd. around 5pm today (5/21/26). The Sheffield Lake Police Department and the Lorain County SWAT Team responded to this residence, but Lefort had fled prior to their arrival. If seen, please do not approach. Please call your local law enforcement agency.

Anyone with information into Lefort's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Sheffield Lake Police Department at 440-949-7131.
