Good Afternoon,

Lorain County Public Health is in Sheffield Lake today wearing purple shirts and providing free NARCAN kits and overdose prevention education to residents.

A booth is set up in the Service Department parking lot, and representatives will be walking throughout the community until 4:00 p.m.

Residents with "No Trespassing" or "No Soliciting" signs posted will be skipped. Please note that this outreach is exempt from the Do Not Knock Registry.

If you are unable to obtain a free kit today but would like one, NARCAN kits may be requested by mail through Lorain County Public Health. The Sheffield Lake Police Department will also retain a limited supply of kits.

Sheffield Lake Community Outreach

Lorain County Public Health, in partnership with the City of Sheffield Lake, will be conducting a community naloxone distribution and opioid overdose awareness event.

The Sheffield Lake Police are hoping to identify any witnessess on Lake Road near the Avon Lake/ Sheffield Lake border on August 23, 2026 around 6:25pm. An assault victim was involved in a altercation, in that area, with a male driving a red Chevrolet 4 door. The victim received a ride from the two females, driving a white SUV. Anyone in that area who may have seen anything related to this incident please contact the Sheffield Lake Police at 440-949-7131

The Sheffield Lake Parks staff located a cell phone at Ferndale Park on 8/20/26. If anyone is missing their phone call the SLPD at 440-949-7131.

The SLPD would encourage drivers, not dropping children off at Knollwood on Oster road, to avoid Oster and Irving Park between 8:00am and 8:40. The traffic is very congested at that time and can cause delays.
