Good Job Sheboygan Officers!!!

Last week, many of our officers completed Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). A 40-hour program designed to prepare law enforcement and public safety professionals to safely and effectively respond to behavioral health crises.

This specialized training focuses on de-escalation techniques, reducing the need for force or unnecessary arrests, and connecting individuals to the appropriate resources and treatment. Through realistic, scenario-based learning, our officers gain practical skills that help them make thoughtful, informed decisions in some of the most challenging situations they may face.

2. Understand the technology your kids are using.
3. Be aware of ALL the technology they are using.
4. Set parental controls.
5. Install monitoring software.
6. Monitor all online activity closely.

Here are some signs that your child may be victimized:

• You find inappropriate material on the computer, tablet, or phone.
• Your child receives mail, money, or gifts from unknown people.

If your child is being victimized:
• Make it clear that the victimization is not his or her fault.
• Save all evidence of victimization, such as e-mails, conversations, or photos.
• Contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.

Our new friend Sophia delivered some fresh, homemade chocolate chip cookies (with the perfect amount of chocolate chips) to the police department this afternoon. Sophia said she recognized our officers working hard on a large scene earlier this week and wanted to recognize/thank them for their service.

While she may be thankful for us, we are equally thankful for the support she and so many others show us. We can’t do what we do without community support!

Thank you, Sophia!
