Millions of individuals across America want to help people in poverty. These two leaders have a plan to unite them all.

Faith communities are an underutilized resource in the fight against America’s biggest societal problems. That’s the driving ethos at Love Has No Limits, a volunteer movement that’s helping connect faith communities with nonprofits to create high-impact solutions to issues like poverty, homelessness, and the child welfare crisis.

Led by Dominic Russo and Jedidiah Thurner, Love Has No Limits believes that the missing ingredient of many effective anti-poverty solutions is passionate people who want to make a difference. The good news? Places of worship are full of them. What’s been lacking, however, are concentrated efforts to connect these communities with nonprofits that share similar values and goals.

Love Has No Limits is helping to foster those connections. After a year of behind-the-scenes collaboration, the organization launched a massive campaign called One Day LA, a major goal of which was to help close child welfare cases and connect children in need with foster or adoptive families. The successful results demonstrate how bottom-up solutions can outperform some of the top-down strategies that have been failing American communities for decades.

For fathers who are estranged from their children or children who are estranged from their fathers, Father's Day can be an incredibly painful time. It seems like the entire world is joyfully celebrating fatherhood while you struggle with a fractured relationship and grieve the bond you wish you had.

More than one in four Americans are currently estranged from a family member, and more than two in five have experienced family estrangement at some point. However, in spite of its prevalence, estrangement is still seen as taboo. Stigma and shame exacerbate the pain and loss of those cut off from the people they love.

A certified grief support specialist offers advice to help estranged fathers and children get through Father’s Day.

Gen Alpha kids are becoming proficient with handheld technology at younger ages than previous generations, with 40% having a tablet by age 2, 58% having one by age 4 and almost one in four kids having a personal cell phone by age 8. As a result, they are engaging with social media early on in their development and exhibiting preferences for certain apps and platforms.

A study of Gen Alpha’s social media usage shows that they favor apps that feature short, attention-grabbing content. YouTube is the most popular video app for Gen Alpha kids, who spend an average of 84 minutes a day on the platform — consuming a vast array of entertainment and educational programming. TikTok is another popular platform among Gen Alpha, who enjoy its engaging, short-form videos. In fact, as of 2019–2021, more than two-thirds (68%) of social media users ages 11–12 had TikTok accounts according to a 2025 study in Academic Pediatrics. Although TikTok and YouTube have an age minimum of 13, they are still popular with Alphas, especially older Alphas who find ways to circumvent the age restrictions.

Gen Alpha’s regular consumption of video content fosters a sense of trust and admiration for content creators and social media influencers. In fact — when it comes to product recommendations — almost half of Gen Alphas say that they trust their favorite influencers as much as their own family members. Gen Alpha is also increasingly turning to social media instead of search engines to meet their information needs.
