Just like that ... the 3 year OVC Grant awarded to the Sheboygan Police Department focused on creating and establishing a strong program focused on crime victims is complete! 🥳

The Sheboygan Police Department was 1 of 8 agencies from across the U.S. selected to receive funds through the International Association for Chiefs of Police (IACP) in FY23. Throughout the 3 years, we were able to establish a baseline for a program, educate officers & partner agencies, host events & so much more! 🙌

THANK YOU to the community for the support, encouragement and trust we've received. Every small engagement we've shared is meaningful to us! THANK YOU to the International Association of Chiefs of Police for putting your confidence into Sheboygan while helping us figure it out along the way, and lastly THANK YOU to the City of Sheboygan for seeing the potential to make a lasting impact for victims of crime in our community!

The future is looking bright for Victim Services ✨

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and this year, Victim Services is partnering with the ADRC of Sheboygan County for an electronic donation drive! 📱⌚📸

Between October 1-31st, clean out your junk drawers and look for old smart phones, digital cameras, smart watches, flip phones etc. and help us support victims of violence in our communities.

Once devices are donated, they're sent to the 911 Cell Phone Bank, refurbished (or used for parts) and then fully functioning smart phones are sent back to the Sheboygan Police Department to be given to victims of crime who need them.

✨We never want someone to be without a way to ask for help!✨

If you have questions about what donations are accepted, please connect with Britta, Victim Service Coordinator at (920)459-3359.

Love seeing everyone's photos from National Night Out!

NNO is such a fun event bringing together community agencies and law enforcement to help bridge the gap in how we work together to support others!

Always a great reminder that you're not alone in your struggles & we have many people and places that are here to help.

Elder abuse is a serious and often hidden issue affecting millions of older adults every year. It can include physical harm, verbal intimidation, emotional manipulation, neglect, financial exploitation, and isolation from family, friends, or support systems.

Too often, older adults suffer in silence because they fear retaliation, depend on their abuser for care, or do not know where to turn for help.

On World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we stand against all forms of abuse and commit to recognizing the warning signs:

🟪Unexplained injuries or frequent accidents
🟪Sudden changes in behavior, mood, or communication
🟪Poor hygiene, malnutrition, or untreated medical needs
🟪Missing money, unusual financial transactions, or changes to legal documents
🟪Social withdrawal or restricted contact with loved ones

If you suspect abuse, neglect, or exploitation, don't ignore the signs. Reporting concerns and offering support can make a life-changing difference. We partner with the ADRC of Sheboygan County regularly to help support the aging population!
