Our two and four-legged first responders face some of their highest risks when working on the side of our local roads and highways. While it may be tempting to watch us at work, please move over and slow down so we can make it home safely!

National Slow Down, Move Over Day – October 18, 2025

The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office joins agencies across Wisconsin in reminding drivers to slow down and move over for all roadside responders.

Wisconsin law requires motorists to move over or reduce speed for any vehicle with flashing lights. These few seconds of caution protect law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, tow operators, and highway crews working to keep our roads safe.

When you see flashing lights ahead, please slow down, move over, and stay alert. Lives depend on it.

Today K9 Roca celebrates her 6th birthday! She’ll still be out serving the citizens of Sheboygan County, but first enjoyed a treat in dispatch and a new toy!

We are very thankful for Sam’s hard work raising money to support our K9 Unit!

Recently we had a college student working on a final project for their degree. She approached us and asked if she could host a fundraiser for our K9 program. We graciously accepted the offer because donations and private sponsorships completely fund our program. She teamed up with the Sheboygan Elk's Lodge to host this event.

She did a fantastic job organizing the event and managing the fundraiser.

Congratulations to K9 Max on his well earned retirement!

The Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit has had the opportunity to work and train with Officer Taylor and Max for several years now, and have been first hand witnesses to the strength of their bond and their skill as a handler team. Max and Anna’s tracking ability is legendary within the K9 community!

We wish Max a long and healthy retirement and thank him and Officer Taylor for their service!

The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit is now offering K9 plushies as a fundraiser to help support our continued operations. You could be the proud owner of your own mini version of K9 Roca or K9 Storm today! Plushies are available at the front counter of the Sheriff's Department located at 525 N 6th Street in Sheboygan or the Sheboygan County Human Resources Department located at 508 New York Ave. Room 336. Cost is $25 per plushie or $45 per pair. Please pay by cash or checks payable to "Sheboygan County."
