05/24/2026
As EMS week 2026 comes to a close our department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our dedicated EMS professionals. What does that dedication look like? That dedication starts when our EMS professionals attend their initial classes. The hours that go into that class are 72 hours for EMR (Emergency Medical Responder), 180 hours for EMT-Basic, and 1100-1500 hours for EMT-Paramedic. However, the dedication doesnβt stop there, it continues with regular training, continuing education hours, and countless hours of responding to approximately 600 EMS calls a year. The Town of Sheboygan Fire Department provides EMS services at the EMR level, and on a volunteer basis. Even though we are an EMR service we have numerous providers with higher levels of certification. The dedicated EMS members of our department and the level of certification they possess are as follows:
Chief Andrew Stahl-EMT-Basic
Deputy Chief Andrew Perman- EMT- Paramedic
Captain Michael Brungraber- EMT-Basic
Lieutenant Erin Wojcik- Critical Care Paramedic
Captain Josh Biederwolf- EMR
Lieutenant Justin Welsch- EMR

One week of the year is not enough time to recognize all of you for your commitment to providing volunteer but professional EMS services to all the residents and visitors to the Town of Sheboygan.
We would also like to thank the dedicated individuals that took time out of their holiday weekend to refresh on some of our advanced skills, which is required on an annual basis.
