SCAM ALERT: "YOUR PHONE IS ELIGIBLE FOR AN UPGRADE"

A new scam is making the rounds.

Criminals are impersonating Spectrum Customer Service and contacting victims about a "free" or "discounted" phone upgrade. The scammer then convinces the victim to purchase new mobile devices, provide account information, or share verification codes.

We have had a few reports of this over the past two weeks.

Protect Yourself:
• Hang up and call Spectrum directly using the number on your bill or official website.
• Never provide verification codes to someone who contacts you.
• Be cautious of unexpected upgrade offers.

Members of our senior community are frequently targeted so please share this with older family members and friends since many are not connected with social media platforms.

Wednesday is expected to be a hot and humid day with high temperatures near 90 degrees. These temperatures will combine with a humid airmass to produce peak afternoon heat index values in the middle to upper 90s which is approaching heat advisory criteria. If there is less cloud cover than currently forecast, high temperatures could be a few degrees warmer.
