We provide books, DVD's, books on CD, events for adults, children and teens, public access computers and free WiFi! We have over 300 Civil War titles and information about the 250 year old town of Sharpsburg, its residents, buildings and history. Mission:

The Hill Top House Hotel was for generations a beloved Harpers Ferry destination, yet few guests knew that it was founded by African- Americans Tom and Lavinia Lovett. Learn about their challenges and successes as operators of a segregated whites-only resort during the early Jim Crow era. Author Lynn Pechuekonis will sign pre-purchased books.

Happening TODAY at the Sharpsburg Library- Storytellers Renee Emanuel (Harriet Tubman) and F***y Crawford (her great-grandfather, T. H. Barnes, who escaped enslavement in Hagerstown, circa 1835) will be wandering the library in character and costume, answering questions and telling stories in honor of Black History Month. Both ladies are members of the MD Griots' Circle, National Association of Black Storytellers. Tea and cookies will be available.
