The wrought iron fence at the Methodist Cemetery on North Hall Street has been repaired, reinstalled, and painted thanks to volunteers from Washington County Day of Caring and volunteers and friends of the Sharpsburg Historical Society. Preserving the cemetery has been an on-going project of the historical society. Please stop by to see the fence and the progress straightening tombstones. Notice also the cut-away curb entrance to the cemetery in front of the gate. We would like to learn when the curb was installed on North Hall Street; that would help date the fence.
