Officer Hayes and his trusty sidekicks have been busy with multiple graduations!

Students at Sharonville Elementary, Stewart Elementary, and St. Michael School were awarded with certificates of completion for the D.A.R.E. program! These kids have been working hard, learning about the consequences of drug abuse, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and more. We are proud of their dedication to this program, and we hope the skills and knowledge they have gained are applied throughout their lives.

Congrats, kids!

We wanted to blast a message out to all the drivers out there after noticing an uptick in accessible parking violations:

📣Please do not use a removable windshield placard that is not yours.📣

Our officers run the placard number and if it does not return to your name and the owner is not with you, you can receive a citation. If you are picking up food or items for a loved one that owns the placard, they are sitting at home, and you are the only person in the car, you can get a citation... even if you are just "running in".

The placard does not exist to make YOUR grocery trip quicker- these placards are issued to people who have disabilities that limit or impair their ability to walk into the store. The conditions they have could range from anything like severe heart or lung disease, to back and leg issues and many more. Disabilities are not always obvious to the eye, but what is obvious to us is a windshield placard that does not return to your name.

💙We want individuals with limited mobility or those who need additional space to safely enter and exit their vehicle to have access to convenient, accessible parking so daily life can be a little easier and more comfortable for them.

If you need to apply for a windshield placard for yourself, PLEASE visit the link below for some helpful information:

Our very own Officer KC Roberts spoke at Patriot Pointe on Memorial Day.
KC endured a long deployment while employed here with us, and we are so proud of his dedication to our country and to our wonderful City of Sharonville.

Thank you, KC, for taking the time to speak to honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Because of these heroes, we are able to enjoy the freedoms we cherish every day. We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend spent with family, friends, and appreciation for the freedoms that come with being an American.

Today marked the conclusion of our in-house, active shooter training. Our officers trained inside a vacant building alongside instructors and civilian role players to simulate real-life active shooter situations. Officers worked through multiple scenarios and received direct feedback afterward from fellow officer instructors to help sharpen their tactical skills and decision-making.

We are grateful for the opportunity to put a vacant building to good use, and we hope every officer walked away with new knowledge or a fresh perspective that could make a difference in the future. The officers that went through these scenarios ranged from newly sworn-in to nearing retirement. Everyone can always learn something new from their peers.

A huge thank you to all of the instructors who dedicated their time and expertise to providing critical feedback and helping ensure our officers are prepared should they ever have to run into a building with an active shooter.

We also had three of our dispatchers assist throughout the training, role-playing as victims. Special shout out to Dispatcher Sara Orr, who assisted during all FOUR full days of training! She was shot at and even returned fire on officers with Simunition rounds countless times throughout the exercises. Her dedication to supporting her coworkers during this critically important training is so appreciated!

💙 Today, we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities.

Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten. As we wrap up the Light Ohio Blue campaign, take a moment to think about the families and friends these fallen officers have left behind. For them, the loss is not just a moment- it’s a lifelong journey marked by grief, strength, and remembrance.

The pain of these sacrifices endures, and the least we can do is pause, remember, and pay tribute.
