All firefighters lives are valuable, men & women. They each work very hard, long hours, spend a lot of time away from home, sign-on to work as a team, all while battling with in themselves to train endlessly throughout their careers, continually educate themselves, stay fit, eat healthy, try to get adequate rest & manage mental aspects of the job. They endlessly try to master a craft commonly described as “Jack of all Trades, Master of None.” 🔥Fire doesn’t discriminate, it doesn’t know who is in that turnout gear, we always have to be prepared & ready. All that being said, our dept had a milestone yesterday with an all female crew at St 87 for that 24 hours, for the first time ever. Thank you to ALL our firefighters for your time & commitment DAILY, we are BLESSED to have you ALL. Pictured below: Lt. Suzanne Casteel, & Firefighter/Paramedics: Christine Brockman, Molly Kodman, & Elizabeth Highland.
