Summer and drivers education season is here! Once your new driver has completed their drivers education course, our office can issue their first driving credential! Please call the office to get scheduled, as all licenses are done by appointment. In the meantime, you can help your young driver prepare by using this time to round up the required documents. This will expedite the process.
All applicants must provide the following:
- State issued, certified birth certificate OR current US passport.
- Social Security Card.
- 2 proofs of PHYSICAL, street address in the parent OR applicant's name. Examples include but are not limited to school transcripts, utility bills, bank statements. Junk mail cannot be used and all documents must be taken out of envelopes to be scanned. If the parent's document is used, we will also ask for their drivers license.
- Signed parental consent form.
- Any legal name change document if the applicant's name is now different than that reflected on their birth certificate.
Additionally, if the applicant is applying for a Farm Permit, they must provide the Farm Permit Affidavit - either signed by a the farmer parent or farm employer. For more information on this, please call our office.
For those not taking drivers education, please contact the Colby Full Service Office to schedule your appointment, as written & skills tests will be required. Appointments at Colby will also be required for those not residing in Wallace County.
