New program Announcement:

We are excited to announce instructor led drills are now available for training. The programs come directly from some of our core programs to allow the fire companies to hone in on skills. These individual skills allow an entire company to interact and be the student. The skills will be instructed by at least two instructors for safety and competence.

Progress moves forward on the propane pad. The flashover sim has been moved to its new permanent spot along with the propane props. You will see we got rid of some of the props that were no longer in use and in bad condition. There is plenty work left on the pad to be completed but it’s already starting to look better.

East Lansdowne Fire Company as many of you know unfortunately had to shut their doors this year. The fire company going through the shutdown process had a lot of items to strip off trucks, remove and clean. Through this process the entire county has seen the newer engine go to Collingdale Fire Company - Station 33. The training center was very fortunate to receive the 1996 Pierce Saber. The truck has a 1500 GPM pump and a 750-gallon tank. This new addition to the site will help with being able to facilitate more courses as well as taking some work off of the 1990 Yeadon truck. We are grateful to receive this from East Lansdowne and happy that it can stay in the county. We will take good care of the truck as it lives its next life helping shape Delaware county firefighters.

The Emergency and Protective Services at Delaware County Technical Schools Services at Delaware County Technical Schools ran another successful school year and capped it off with the annual Day in the life. This year students got to invite their families to see some of their skills. This program is a huge start for young students to allow them to get certified and get experience before they leave school. Putting learning in the hands of high school students outside the classroom can be one of the most beneficial things in such a hands-on field. Great job to the students returning next year and best of luck to the graduating students.

Over the holiday weekend our FF1 course completed their final burn West Chester Fire Department Training Center. This training completes the students modular training and combined with the mod 4 test, allows them to pass FF1 course. The students have another few days for Proboard testing for national certification. This course is only the start for these students firefighting careers. We look forward to seeing all come back for more courses.
Great work to the spring 2026 FF1 Course!
