Thank you Chief John Keyser and Dufur fire department for keeping us in mind for this new-to-us wild land engine upgrade as our old one (1980) could no longer serve. This gives us much greater flexibility. You guys are awesome .

Please be patient and know where to stop in the event conditions get unbearable.

Be prepared to be stuck for long periods.

Bring food, water, blankets, charge phones, first aid kit, etc...

If you are involved in an accident put your lights on and your hazards so in the event your vehicle becomes buried with snow it can be seen.

Keep an eye out for milepost. Snow can be disorienting resulting in longer rescue times if we cannot locate you.

Watch out for first responders on the road, including ODOT workers!

Or just stay home, it is not worth your life or the lives of others.

We responded to a rollover MVA on Hwy 197 MP 66 this morning. On our way to this call we realized visibility is quite low in some places along Hwy 97. Make sure to give yourself time to brake and keep a safe distance between you and the car in front of you.

At 11:42 we responded to a motorcycle down on HWY 218 MP13. We were aided by Jefferson County Fire District #1, Wheeler County Sheriff, OSP, and bystanders.

We would like to say thank you to Chase and Joe who stopped and rendered aid while waiting for first responders to arrive. They helped save a life today and we are all grateful for it.
