🎉 Congratulations to our very own Justin Benoy! 🎉

We are thrilled to celebrate Justin for representing Brunswick Senior Resources and proudly accepting the 2026 Chairman Award in recognition of our organization's outstanding volunteer efforts!

Justin accepted this prestigious honor during the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce's annual Boots, Vines & Good Times Chairman Awards Celebration on May 14, 2026, at Brunswick County's own Silver Coast Winery in Ocean Isle Beach. This special event shines a spotlight on the businesses, organizations, and community leaders whose dedication and service help make Brunswick County an exceptional place to live, work, and thrive.

This award is a testament to the incredible volunteers, staff, and supporters who give their time, talents, and hearts to serving older adults throughout our community. We are especially proud of Justin for accepting this recognition on behalf of Brunswick Senior Resources and for his unwavering commitment to our mission.

It was a beautiful Friday last week when our friends from Feast Down East visited the Southport Center for the very first time.☀️ We are so happy they are now coming out to each of our Senior Centers located in Calabash, Leland, Shallotte, Southport, Supply, and Ash!

They arrived with an amazing selection of fresh, local, and organic fruits and vegetables, and our participants had a wonderful time choosing their favorites to take home.🍓🥒🥬

Southport participants were also treated to a special cooking demonstration by their very own Chef John LaTour from Healthy Families–Healthy Futures, who showcased creative ways to use many of the items available for purchase. The air smelled incredible and the inspiration was flowing! The only thing better than enjoying fresh, local produce is enjoying it with those you love.

A heartfelt thank you to Feast Down East for supporting our community and bringing such a meaningful experience to our participants. We can’t wait to welcome you back again!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated blood at the very 1st blood drive at the Brunswick Center at Leland earlier this week! Your willingness to give a little of your time can make a life-saving difference for someone in need.

🧠🎉 The Supply Center had a wonderful time last week putting their knowledge to the test during lunchtime trivia!

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and great conversation as participants worked together to answer questions and challenge their memories. Activities like trivia are a fun way to stay socially connected while keeping our minds active and engaged.

The Shallotte Center enjoyed the American Heritage Girls Troop 0730 and Lower Cape Fear LifeCare joining together & coming out to teach participants how to create mod podge plates. It was awesome seeing creativity blossom among the various ages that filled the room. That's when ✨magic✨ happens!

We would like to inform you of a new program, known as the Caregiver Mentorship Program, led by UNCW students who are supervised by Dr. Tina Newsham, who is the Professor & Gerontology Program Coordinator. The program is also co-sponsored by Cape Fear Area Agency on Aging.

We are collecting men’s and women’s Pull-Ups in sizes Small, Medium, and Large (**pull-ups only, please no tabs**). All donations will benefit seniors and homebound individuals in need.

For every donation received, you’ll be entered for a chance to win either:
• A beautiful July 4th wreath handmade by our own Annie Dougherty
OR
• An original Gooney Bird
