It's a fun and easy way to contribute to Friends each Thursday from 10 am - noon.

Meet a Friend of the Shaker Library

Joyce Becker is a member-at-large and here is a little bit about her!

"I’m Joyce Becker and I worked for Shaker Library for 27 years. I now volunteer sorting books for the book sales. I always have a book on hand, often borrowed from the library for my Kindle. My favorites are intrigue and mystery, and when my husband, George, and I travel we borrow audiobooks, making our trip so much more pleasant. A recent favorite is the humorous Stanley Tucci’s My Life Through Food.

Two of my favorite authors include Craig Johnson, with his Walt Longmire series, and James Patterson with his French Detective Series. There are many terrific new authors, and Shaker's librarians are always eager to recommend. They can help your book group reserve multiple copies. And you can even apply for a passport at the library.

I love reading intrigue and mystery and when I read, I like to sit by a window, or outside- in good weather, of course- with a bowl of grapes, apple slices or some other fruit-or cookies!
