On May 1st, I was honored to attend the reception “Armenians in America 250” in Washington, D.C., celebrating the 250th Anniversary of U.S. Independence and recognizing the contributions of the Armenian-American community across the United States.

The event, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the United States in cooperation with AGBU, brought together distinguished guests, government officials, and Armenian-American community leaders from across the country.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating Armenian heritage, culture, service, and the strong friendship between Armenia and the United States.

Earlier this month, I had the honor of joining the Cleveland Orchestra in Miami, Florida for a series of unforgettable performances.

A special thank you for the invitation and the opportunity to experience the incredible artistry of world-renowned Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan. The program featured The Swan of Tuonela and the Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius, with Khachatryan as soloist, performing on a magnificent Stradivarius.

Also, on April 23rd, I had the opportunity to join my colleagues from the Cleveland Consular Corps for a special evening at Severance Hall. The evening included a wonderful tour and a pre-concert reception, followed by a powerful performance of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem by The Cleveland Orchestra.

Grateful for these enriching cultural experiences and the opportunity to be part of such remarkable events.

Today, I stand in remembrance of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

April 24th is not just a date — it is a solemn reminder of the lives lost, the families shattered, and the enduring strength of a people who refused to be erased. The Armenian Genocide took place in the Ottoman Empire (modern-day Turkey) from 1915 to 1923, where 1.5 million Armenians were systematically persecuted and killed. We honor their memory and carry their legacy forward with dignity, resilience, and truth.

I am especially honored to have received a proclamation from the Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, recognizing this day of remembrance and standing in solidarity with the Armenian community. This recognition is important — because acknowledgment keeps history alive and moves us closer to justice.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

What an unforgettable night it was in Cleveland on March 11!
The Tigran Hamasyan jazz concert was absolutely incredible — a powerful performance, an amazing atmosphere, and a full house of fans who brought so much energy and appreciation for the music.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out and showed their support. Your presence made the evening truly special. Cleveland showed once again how much it loves great music!

It was a true pleasure and honor to meet with the President & CEO of The Cleveland Orchestra, André Gremillet, and his colleagues to discuss our shared interests and future collaboration.

A special thank you for the warm welcome, generous hospitality, and the kind invitation to attend such a wonderful concert. I was especially honored to meet Alain Altinoglu, an internationally acclaimed conductor of Armenian descent, widely recognized for his dynamic interpretations and leadership at major opera houses and symphony orchestras around the world. It was also a privilege to meet Alisa Weilerstein, one of the foremost cellists of our time, celebrated globally for her profound musicality, technical brilliance, and deeply expressive performances.

An inspiring evening celebrating the power of music and cultural connection. I look forward to continuing and strengthening our collaboration.

On February 25th, I had a meeting at Global Cleveland with Cameron Taylor, Policy and Workforce Specialist, where we discussed opportunities for collaboration following the recent visit of Vice President JD Vance to Armenia and in connection with TRIPP (Trump Road for International Peace and Prosperity) initiatives.

Our conversation focused on strengthening workforce development partnerships, expanding international engagement, and exploring new avenues for economic and cultural cooperation between Cleveland and Armenia.

I look forward to continuing this important dialogue and turning these discussions into meaningful action.
