Throughout the month of May, our members participated in auto extrication training. This hands-on training provided an excellent opportunity for our firefighters to become familiar with our new rescue tools and sharpen the skills needed to safely and efficiently remove victims from damaged vehicles.

Training on realistic scenarios is essential to maintaining proficiency and ensuring we are prepared when emergencies occur.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Bill’s Towing for providing vehicles for us to train on. Their continued support helps us better prepare to serve our community.

The OR&W Fire District would like to extend a sincere thank you to former member Keith Berberich for repainting the mural in our apparatus bay.

Earlier this winter, our members repainted the bay walls as part of a facility improvement project. Unfortunately, the original mural was painted over during the process. Keith, who created the original mural years ago, graciously volunteered his time and talents to bring it back to life.

This mural serves as a tribute to several of our members who have passed away and continues to hold special meaning for our department. Keith hand-drew the firefighter featured in the mural and completed the artwork in just a few hours.

We are grateful for Keith’s dedication, generosity, and commitment to preserving a piece of our department’s history.

Thank you, Keith, for helping us honor our past while inspiring future generations of firefighters. 🚒🇺🇸
