🇺🇸 We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.
Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost and honor the extraordinary courage of the first responders, service members and everyday Americans who answered tragedy with bravery and compassion.
Here in Seymour, the Ft. Vallonia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will honor our local first responders today at 9:37 a.m. on the steps of the Seymour Museum Center. All Jackson County first responders are welcome.
🚒 Third Street from the railroad tracks west to Chestnut Street will be closed to traffic and available for emergency vehicles to park.
🔔 The Seymour Museum Center, along with other organizations with bell systems throughout Seymour, will toll their bells at the times each plane crashed on September 11, 2001:
• 8:46 a.m. — Flight 11, North Tower
• 9:03 a.m. — Flight 175, South Tower
• 9:37 a.m. — Flight 77, Pentagon
• 10:03 a.m. — Flight 93, Pennsylvania
Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the heartbreak of that day, but also the courage, sacrifice and unity that followed.
May we never forget those we lost, those who ran toward danger to help others, and the families whose lives were forever changed.
