We are incredibly grateful for Hutchens Industries and the value they continue to bring to our community!

The bleachers recently completed for Lee Binley Park are just one of the many projects Hutchens Industries and its employees have completed for the City of Seymour. Their craftsmanship and willingness to support our community have made a lasting impact throughout our parks and facilities.

Some of their contributions include:
• Bleachers at South Park
• BBQ grills at South Park and Lee Binley Park
• Bases for the light poles on the Square
• Custom paddles for the aeration basin at our Wastewater Treatment Plant
• And, most recently, the new bleachers at Lee Binley Park

These projects are wonderful examples of local businesses using their skills and resources to invest back into the community.

The City of Seymour sincerely appreciates Hutchens Industries and all of its employees for their continued support, hard work, and commitment to making our community a better place. We are proud to have businesses like Hutchens Industries right here in Seymour!

The City of Seymour is accepting sealed bids on the following surplus equipment:

* 2009 Hustler Zero-Turn Mower with Bagger — 66” cut, 1,078 hours

* 2006 Case 580M Series 2 Backhoe — approximately 3,400 hours; starts but has mechanical issues

* 2006 Bobcat S185 Skid Steer — 820 hours; includes bucket and fork attachments

* Four (4) Used Park Benches

Bids must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Each bid must be sealed and include the specific item/equipment being bid on, bid amount, bidder’s name, and contact information.

Bids may be delivered to Seymour City Hall, 123 W. Market Street, Seymour, MO 65746, or mailed to City of Seymour, P.O. Box 247, Seymour, MO 65746.

Equipment may be inspected at the City’s maintenance shed on South Street. The park benches may also be inspected at the maintenance shed.

Late submissions will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened during the Seymour Board of Aldermen meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The City of Seymour reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.

We truly appreciate their generosity and willingness to give back to our community. Thank you for helping us preserve and improve this important building for years to come!

The monthly test of the outdoor warning sirens will take place today at 10:00 a.m. The outdoor warning sirens are tested the first Wednesday of each month, weather permitting.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

A section of Thoroughfare between Lorraine Street and Hodge Street will be temporarily closed while City crews work to repair a water leak.

Please use caution when traveling near the area and watch for City employees and utility equipment.
