🚨Seymour Police Department Public Safety Alert

With a heat wave approaching, we want to remind everyone:

Never leave children or pets in a vehicle — even for a few minutes.
On hot days, the temperature inside a car can rise to over 120°F in just minutes, even with the windows cracked. This can lead to serious injury, heatstroke, or death.

✅ Take them with you. Every time.

Your child or pet is depending on you. If you see a child or pet left alone in a hot vehicle, call 911 immediately.

Stay safe and beat the heat responsibly.

Yesterday, Officer Baldwin had the opportunity to visit the Helping Hands Family in Shelton and spend time with some amazing young learners and staff members. Helping Hands Family works with children with autism and provides individualized support and educational services designed to help children thrive in their homes, schools, and communities.

During the visit, Officer Baldwin spoke with the children about the role police officers play in keeping our community safe, answered questions, and helped create positive interactions between law enforcement and our youngest community members. Building trust and forming relationships at an early age is an important part of community policing, and we appreciate the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful program.

Thank you to Helping Hands Family for the invitation and for the incredible work you do every day!
