Below are some great resources to review ahead of time for driving safety, car preparation, and planning for power outages.

If you have to drive this weekend please use caution, monitor weather updates, have a vehicle emergency kit, maintain proper distance and accelerate and come to a stop gradually.

Do you know how to receive timely weather advisory notifications?

Understanding what actions to take for each notice will be imperative to your timely preparations and safety actions. For example knowing the difference between a tropical storm/Hurricane watch or warning.

Hurricane outlook and models should be used as a tool but pathways can shift and damage and flooding can occur well beyond forecast cone.

Now is the time ahead of Hurricane season to assemble an emergency supply kit or inventory emergency items to restock as needed.

Understanding where evacuation routes are and having a plan is critical. If you're located in a flood zone, it's important to secure flood insurance as renter's or homeowners insurance will not cover flood damage.
