On Thursday December 18th, the NJ Career Fire Chiefs Association held our annual holiday luncheon / meeting at Nanina’s In the Park in Belleville. We were honored to have Governor Elect Mikie Sherrill swear in the 2026 Executive Board. We would like to thank Governor Elect Sherrill for taking the time to address our members and administering the oath of office to our Executive Board.

As part of the NJ Career Fire Chiefs Annual Leadership Conference yesterday at the Chateau Grande we had Matt Streger present for us, another eye opening presentation. Unfortunately some lessons learned are by the mistakes of others. Matt tells it like it is and advocates for our members and conference attendees to keep them from doing things that may put them in the “jackpot”. Matt is not only a well respected leader but also a great friend to our Association! Once again, the NJ Career Fire Chiefs Association thanks Matt for his continued support and relationship with our organization.

Yesterday the NJ Career Fire Chiefs Association held their Annual Leadership Conference at the Chateau Grande in East Brunswick. Chief Robert Reardon was our keynote and shared two inspiring presentations. We hope we showed the Chief some “Jersey” hospitality! If you haven’t had the chance to meet Chief Reardon or see him present, add it to your list of things to do sooner rather than later. Rob is a true leader who cares about his people and the fire service as a whole! The tragedy that the Chief shared with those in attendance could be anyone of us at any given time. The NJ Career Fire Chiefs Association thanks Chief Reardon for his presentations, his leadership and what we’re confident will be a lasting friendship!

America’s Fire Service is in a much better place because of the hard work, support and dedication of Congressman Bill Pascrell. The NJ Career Fire Chiefs Association sends our condolences to the Pascrell family on the passing of the Congressman. The New Jersey Career Fire Chiefs Association is proud to attend and support the Eastern Division of the IAFC in Mt Laurel NJ. Over 200 attendees were treated to a great event. Congratulations to Chief Burnett and Chief Yates and the entire committee for putting together this incredible conference. Chief Kramer did an outstanding job as the Master of Ceremonies! As always Superintendent Gabliks of our National Fire Academy was in New Jersey, back where his Fire Service journey began! It was a pleasure meeting Chief Butler, President of the IAFC along with several brothers and sisters from our region. History has proven, there’s strength in numbers and this conference was a testament to the fact the the Fire Service is better when there’s one voice and one mission…….let’s leave it a little better than we found it!
