Our thoughts and prayers are with the three Philadelphia Police Officers who were shot in the line of duty overnight while protecting their community.

We are thankful to hear that all three officers are reported to be in stable condition and we pray for their full and speedy recovery.

We also extend our support to their families, fellow officers, and the entire Philadelphia PD during this difficult time.

Incidents like this are a sobering reminder of the dangers police officers face every day and every shift - in service to others. We stand with our brothers and sisters in blue and wish these officers strength and healing in the days ahead.

πŸŽ“ A Special Day at HollyDELL! πŸŽ“

This week Chief Gurcsik had the privilege of attending the HollyDELL Class of 2026 graduation ceremony celebrating an awesome group of students.

HollyDELL’s mission is to provide exceptional educational, social, emotional, therapeutic, & technological programs for individuals with physical and medical challenges from age 3 through adulthood. They do a phenomenal job!

One graduate made the day when he asked Chief Gurcsik what was on his Spotify playlist?! The Chief told him he enjoys country music! The graduate also asked if the PD was on Facebook, and the Chief promised that we would post our photo together. We’re happy to keep that promise today.

We are also excited that our FREEEEZE Ice Cream Truck is scheduled to visit HollyDELL this week to provide frozen treats for the students and staff.

Congratulations to the HollyDELL Class of 2026!

βœ‹πŸ˜€ HIGH 5 FRIDAY AT GRENLOCH TERRACE! πŸ˜€

What a great way to start the day! Officers from the 2nd Platoon welcomed students to Grenloch Terrace School this morning with plenty of high fives, smiles, and positive energy.

There were lots of happy faces as students arrived for school, and our officers enjoyed the opportunity to connect with the children, staff, and families.

We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and fantastic weekend!

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈβ˜€οΈ POOL & HOT TUB SAFETY β˜€οΈπŸŠβ€β™€οΈ

As summer 2026 kicks off, it’s a great time to remember that pool drownings happen fast and silently.

Child drowning calls haunt police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and 911 dispatchers. We witness parents experiencing unimaginable anguish and heartbreaking loss. We never forget these calls……

While a backyard pool promises endless summer fun, it also comes with the huge responsibility of protecting our youngest family members. Fast, fearless little ones can get into trouble in seconds.

βœ… Always maintain constant supervision. Stay alert.
βœ… Make swim lessons a priority.
βœ… Install / maintain proper pool fencing.
βœ… Consider pool and gate alarms.
βœ… Never assume someone else is watching.

A few moments of attention can prevent a lifetime of heartbreak.

WTPD
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable summer season. β˜€οΈπŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ

🎣🐟 COPS & BOBBERS WAS ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS! 🐟🎣

What a great night at Police Headquarters! We had a tremendous turnout with lots of families, plenty of smiles, and fish being caught throughout the evening. It was wonderful to see officers and community members enjoying a summer night together by the pond.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. Events like this are a reminder of what makes Washington Township such a special community.

Missed tonight’s event? Don’t worry! We’re back at it on Thursday, June 25, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Police Headquarters pond.

Bring your fishing gear if you have it, and join us for another evening of fishing, fun, and community connection.

🎣🐟 We’ll see you on June 25! πŸŸπŸŽ£πŸš”πŸ’™

🐾 Meanwhile in the Patrol Room… πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

While Officer AJ was hard at work knocking out reports, K-9 Vino appears to be conducting a very important investigation into the comfort level of the station carpet.

After several hours of observation, Vino has determined:
βœ… No treats in the immediate area
βœ… No sniffs or bad guys to apprehend
βœ… No tennis balls in sight
βœ… No kids to play with
😴 Time for a tactical nap

We’re not sure if he’s bored with paperwork or simply conserving energy for his next shift, but one thing is certain, every good police officer needs a reliable partner, even if that partner spends part of the day snoring on duty.
