Heads up! We have moved a couple of our programs around for the month of June. Check it out:

- Disc Golf League has moved from Fridays to Wednesdays and will begin on Wednesday, June 10th. We have room for more participants. This is shaping up to be the best summer league yet so don't miss out. Sign up link: https://sewardak.myrec.com/info/activities/program_details.aspx?ProgramID=29979

🌟TEAM PLAYER SPOTLIGHT🌟

Have you noticed how day in and day out, the facility at AVTEC gym is consistently maintained and everything is in its right place? Well you can thank Miss Patti for that privilege! Though she is not a Parks and Recreation employee, she takes great care of our staff day in and day out. Patti is extremely personable and has a kind heart. She also rips around on a Harley while covered in the gnarliest leather jacket west of the Yukon Territory. I’m not sure if they have gnarly leather jackets in that land, but I needed some definable landmark. I digress.

Patti treats the opening staff like they are her own kids, bringing leftovers from her supper the night before and making sure they are well-fed. Patti enjoys the summer sun, and has a hammock and a heated pool she sets up every summer so she can enjoy the midnight sun. We wanted to thank Patti for her kind heart and consistent upkeep of the space we use to treat our community to awesome programming and sports leagues. We hope next time you see Ms. Patti closer to opening hours, that you say hi and say thank you! She is one of the many rockstars we have helping us pursue our mission of creating mountains of recreation for our community!

Now wipe those shoes off and come on into the gym!

The Bear Bell run is only one week away! The Bear Bell Run returns to Two Lakes Park for a foot-race that is just for kids. Sign up before June to save $5 on registration.

Volunteers are needed to make this run smoothly, so give us a call at (907) 224-4054 to help ensure these kids have a great time jingling down the trail!
