Attention property owners in the Kenai Peninsula borough you have until midnight Tuesday 02/16/2026 to apply for the new $75,000 residential exemption. You must apply for this even if you have the $50,000 residential exemption in place. If you don't apply you will not even have the $50,000 exemption. To apply use the golden "Apply Now" link in the Kenai Peninsula Borough website home page. There is a convenient countdown timer right at the top of the page next to the golden "Apply Now" The instructions are easy to follow. The Senior Citizen Exemption and the Disabled Veterans Exemption both have the same deadline, but the forms have to be printed out and mailed in.
If you know somebody having internet or computer issues please give them directions to the Bear Creek Fire Service Area Community Multi-Use Facility, where there is a staffed Kenai Peninsula Borough office. That address is 13105 Seward Highway. Borough phone numbers are Seward 907-224-9517 or Kenai 907-262-4441
