A sunny day in Seward last week testing out on Fire and Emergency Services Instructor 2. Highly effective instruction will level up our in house trainings and we are looking forward to that challenge. Thank you to Seward Volunteer Fire Department for hosting and to everyone who traveled to Seward to make it happen.

❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day from Seward Volunteer Fire Department ❤️

Today we’re celebrating all the things we love — our families, our community, and the team that shows up day and night when the call comes in.

Love looks a little different around here.
It looks like checking your partner’s air pack.
It looks like staying late to clean the bay.
It looks like training hard so someone else has a better tomorrow.

To our volunteers, supporters, and the community that stands behind us — we appreciate you more than you know.

Stay safe. Hug your people. And if your Valentine smells like smoke and coffee… you chose well.

Our Fire Explorers have been putting in the work.
Drills, timing, posture, and precision.

They’ve been practicing their marching and flag presentation as they prepare to present the colors at the upcoming Seward Fire Department Annual Banquet. It takes discipline, focus, and teamwork—and they’re showing all three.

We’re proud of the effort they’re putting in and the professionalism they bring every time they step up. These Explorers represent the future of the fire service, and they’re earning it one practice at a time.

Huge congratulations to our 17 new ETTs 🎉🚑

This class brought together four departments, a local scout troop, and several community members—a great mix of people all stepping up to learn how to help when it matters most.

ETT isn’t easy. It takes time, commitment, and a willingness to run toward problems instead of away from them. You all showed up and put in the work, and it shows.

We’re proud of every one of you.
Welcome to the front line—and congratulations on earning it. 👏🔥

We kicked off our 2026 training calendar this year with ETT training! All week we have been working with Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corps to teach one of the bigger classes of students. It’s always amazing to work with a group of volunteers who dedicate their time to learn how to help others.

Wish them luck as they are testing out today!!! You guys got this!!!

🚒 Community Risk Reduction Week — Jan 19–25, 2026 🚒

This week, we join fire departments across the nation in Community Risk Reduction Week — a grassroots effort to spotlight how risk reduction keeps families and firefighters safer every day.

CRR isn’t just a buzzword. It’s a data-driven approach that helps us:
• spot local risks,
• invest our resources wisely,
• and reduce both emergency events and their impact on the community and responders.

This year’s theme is Emergency Response — showing how what we do on every call is part of reducing risk before, during, and after an incident.
