The department was organized in 1921 by E.M. Clarke, and J.P. The fire station originally is where the Seward Borough Building is located. The station relies on donations, fundraisers, and grants to keep our doors open and provide services to the citizens of the area. Our regular fundraisers include weekly Sunday Bingo, 2 Gun Bashes, a Comedy Show, New Year's Eve Party, and 2 Horse Races throughout the year. The fire company is also very grateful to have an awesome auxiliary. The auxiliary is there to support the fire company in what ever it is we do, weather it be a 3 a.m. house fire or a fundraiser. The auxiliary is always there, if we need them, one phone call is made and they have at a minimum of 6 people there to help. Some firefighters also help the auxiliary with their own fundraisers as well. The auxiliary always hosts a Lenten Lunch/Dinner, and there are always a certain few firefighters there to support them.

Thank you, Pam Wilkins; for posting the recipe for Zucchini Bars with Brown Butter Frosting. We made it this morning and it is delicious. The first time we ever made it for Bingo tomorrow night at the Seward Volunteer Fire Company; so of course we had to taste test it to make sure it would be good to serve.....and, we made a Chocolate Zucchini Cake. There will be people who say, ugh zucchini; but you can't taste it at all in either the bars or cake; but they will still complain. Oh well, that is their loss. Thanks again!!
