Due to the sudden downpour, we are seeing spotty flooding on roadways throughout the village.

This creates an increased risk of hydroplaning, so motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and avoid standing water when possible. If you encounter flooded areas, consider taking an alternate route or waiting for conditions to improve.

Stay alert and drive safely.

Your steady presence and quick response are vital to everything we do. From all of us at the Seville Police Department—we appreciate you.

Today starts National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

This week, we honor the dispatchers of the Medina County Sheriff’s Office — the voices who bring calm to chaos and hope to the moments when people feel most afraid.

You are the first connection in every emergency, the steady presence guiding both our community and our responders through uncertainty. You carry the weight of fear, confusion, and crisis with a strength that often goes unseen, yet it is felt in every life saved and every safe return.

Your work is the foundation of every response, every rescue, and every outcome that ends in safety.

Thank you for the courage, the care, and the heart you bring to this calling every single day.

🚨 Slippery Conditions Alert 🚨

We’re continuing to see an increase in slip-and-fall incidents around town due to icy sidewalks and driveways. Even a thin layer of ice can be extremely dangerous.

Please take a few extra minutes to salt and clear your walkways, steps, and driveways. A little prevention can help avoid serious injuries for you, your family, visitors, and delivery drivers.

Slow down, wear proper footwear, and watch your step out there, Seville.

Update: February 23rd, 2026 11:38 am. The Medina County Sheriff's Office is lifting the Level 2 Snow Emergency.

Medina County is no longer under a snow emergency level.

2/23/26 at 07:15
🚨 LEVEL 2 SNOW EMERGENCY – UPGRADE

Due to deteriorating road conditions, we are upgrading from a Level 1 to a Level 2 Snow Emergency.

Roadways throughout the area are slick and snow-covered, with drifting in open areas. Crews are actively out treating and plowing, but conditions remain hazardous.

⚠️ Level 2 means:
Roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be on the roadways. Use extreme caution.

If you must travel, please:
• ❄️ Slow down and increase following distance
• ❄️ Avoid sudden braking or sharp turns
• ❄️ Give plow trucks plenty of space — do not pass unless absolutely necessary
• ❄️ Turn on headlights and ensure they are clear of snow
• ❄️ Allow extra time to reach your destination
• ❄️ Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle

Our crews are working hard to keep roads passable. Please do your part by driving cautiously and staying home if you can.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary. Stay safe.
