Fremont Indian State Park and Museum Explore and award winning museum and art gallery, hiking trails, ATV trails, camping, and thousands of petroglyphs all in one place.

Discover artifacts, petroglyphs, and pictographs left behind by the Fremont Indians. During construction of Interstate 70, the largest known Fremont Indian village was uncovered. This museum preserves treasures from the site, including pottery, baskets, and arrowheads. Spend a day at the museum, ride your ATV from in-park trailheads, and then camp at the Castle Rock or Sam Stowe Campgrounds. While

Whether you want to master a traditional craft, check out sleek custom cars, or explore the ancient canyon trails, we have something for everyone this month.

Mark your calendars for our featured September events:

🥁 Art in the Park: Drum Making Workshop
Dates: Saturday, September 5th & Saturday, September 26th
Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Details: Spend a Saturday in Clear Creek Canyon creating your own 10-inch hide medicine drum with a local artist. Pre-registration is strictly required 24 hours in advance!

🚗 5th Annual Clear Creek Canyon Car Show
Date: Saturday, September 19th
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Canyon cruise kicks off at 2:15 PM)
Details: Come look at classic builds, grab a bite from local food trucks, and enter to win raffle prizes. The event is entirely free for spectators! Vehicle registration is $25 for the first car.

🌌 Explore Anytime and join us for our Dark Sky Events: Don't forget that our outdoor trails, rock art loops, and campgrounds are open. Come experience our famous dark skies!

Ready to swap your flashlight for the glow of the full moon and see who rules the Utah night sky? We have two incredible evening programs coming up at Fremont Indian State Park that you won’t want to miss!

🌕 Full Moon Hike
When: Wednesday, August 26th @ 8:30 PM
Where: Meet outside the Visitor Center
The Vibe: Guided trek through Clear Creek Canyon under the brilliant silvery light of the full moon. Watch the rugged rock formations glow, learn about the night life, and dive into dark-sky preservation!

🦇 "Bat’s Incredible!" Bat Walk
When: Saturday, August 29th @ 8:30 PM
Where: Meet at the Museum Activity Center
The Vibe: A short, highly educational night walk. Learn about our local flying mammals, their major impacts on our ecosystem, and debunk the myths surrounding them.

🎒 What to bring:
Flashlight (red lens preferred to save your night vision!)
Warm jacket (canyon temperatures drop fast after sunset!)
Sturdy dirt/rock hiking shoes

💵 Cost: Both programs are free with your standard $10 vehicle day-use fee or park camping pass.

We are skipping the generic weekend routine. Instead, we are stepping into the quiet museum gallery at Fremont Indian State Park for an intimate, 3-hour masterclass in traditional artistry. Guided by master artisan Savannah Fox, you will slow down, connect with raw materials, and hand-weave your own 10-inch medicine drum.

🏜️Because nature doesn't make copies, no two drums are identical. Your drum will carry its own unique grain, voice, and deep resonance.

An incredible, intentional experience valued at $200—but yours to create for just $50 (all premium materials included).

We know how annoying it is that the museum is STILL closed but please be patient with us as we are making it extra special for you.

We still don’t have an exact date for it to be done but we promise you are all invited to the grand opening later this year!

In the meantime come see our thousands of petroglyphs, pictographs, and pictoglyphs!
